Electric Motor Winder

Job Summary:

Able to wind, test, record motor data, wind coils, interpoles for random and form wound AC and DC motors as well as other electrical wound devices as required  

Key Responsibilities

  • Able to assemble and test AC and DC electric motors and generators
  • Able to test electrical rotating apparatus with standard industry test instruments such as surge tester, multi-meter, core loss tester, etc. 
  • Able to make coils and wind armatures, stators and rotors for AC and DC motors and generators.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum grade 12 education (or equivalent) preferred with good communication skills in English and strong mathematic and writing skills
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Good mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of  industrial process and application
  • Manual dexterity
  • The ability to pay careful attention to detail
  • Able to work with or without supervision and able to make decisions on his/her own
